WEEK 3
[The week begins as last week began. But there's is a great difference-murder. It has happened. Blood has been drawn; it cannot be undone. The Game has made itself known. The Game is paramount. The Game simply is.
As morning dawns, those who were not present with the DEAD lock will find that the doors that were locked are now gone-and a whole new area has finally opened up to them. They will also find that they remember something they had not been able to recall beforehand. The question is, was it worth it?
And-is it you, or is the ship getting...colder as the hours go by? No, it's not just you. By the end of Sunday, the ship has started to dip into freezing temperatures. It might be difficult for people to bundle up-unless you're Brain, who will find his closet inundated with winter clothing that fit him perfectly.
Yup. This is going to be a long week, as if last week wasn't bad enough.
There are currently 16 strangers in this place.]

MEETING TIME
People probably have questions about what happened yesterday, and I have answers...though no one here is going to like them. Those vines and roots from the execution are something I'm unfortunately familiar with. They belong to the Qliphoth tree, a demonic plant that roots in the human world and drains blood from its inhabitants to ripen a fruit in the underworld. That fruit is enriched with the blood of its victims, and any demon who eats it becomes powerful enough to rule all of Hell with an iron fist.
I know what you're probably thinking from this, but I have nothing to do with this...I hate that damned tree. But I have intel that Zero is supposed to be dead. That's why he's so amused by my threat, he's already gone to Hell...and probably become a demon. I don't know if it's for him personally, or for his goddess...but he wants that fruit, and he plans on feeding us all to the tree to make it happen.
[....Yeah, if anyone needs a drink after hearing all that, he has you covered.]
no subject
O-Oh.
Um.
Is there... anything else you can.... t-tell us about... that....?
no subject
[He hands her a shot of that liquor, keeping one for himself. He normally sticks to lower proof drinks, but...he needs it, okay?]
If Zero's a demon, it's...honestly hard to know what to expect. I've known plenty of human souls who adapted to the underworld, and they range from minor demons to some of the most infamous names in Hell. All I can say for sure is, it means he has plenty of reason to want our blood. Blood from a living creature, especially from a human, is a source of power to the denizens of Hell.

It's always ritual bullshit, even if this is a ritual for demons. Not the Demon Pillars though, he fucking hopes. Now that he, uh...heard about them and has more memories about what exactly he is.]
And I assume normally said tree requires much more sacrifice, but it is being expedited due to the situation we find ourselves in?
[Since, well. Heightened emotions and all that.]

So, uh, does anyone know what 'Dharma' is?
[A beat, then he explains.]
I was doing a little patrolling when I heard a noise from the weapon room this morning, and turns out now there's a big polar bear in it. Gave him a treat, talked to him, we chilled. He had that on his collar. For a second, I thought that was his name, but I think it might be something else...?
...
I'm calling him Cubey, though. Like an ice cube.

I'm concerned why our deaths might be so important, under the circumstances, if it's blood they're after. Zero has already proven he can make us bleed at any time, and survive both mortal wounds and much more bloodless than we should be able to. Of course, I'm glad we're not just being used as a...blood farm.
But there has to be something more going on, doesn't there?

It was mentioned that strong negative emotion seems to enhance people's powers. It'll take some investigating and strengthening of my own powers, but there's the possibility that mine could be used to enhance others.

John was glad he still had his fur lined jacket from home for now. But damn.. Some of those things hit hard. Zero was already dead, a demon and wanted to feed everyone to a blood tree! What in the actual fuck?!"
no subject
[ Initially he looked just repulsed by it, but there's a touch of anger that soon falls across his face understandably. Roland shook his head and his hands clenched into fists. ]
I absolutely refuse to allow myself to be fed to this abominable tree.
[ A sickening thought crossed his mind and he isn't sure how to process it for a second or two. He hopes he isn't right. ]
...Is there a chance that Zero may be after the souls of the dead as well?

PICTURE HUNT & DOUBLE AGENT
[Ideally the note will be passed around as Makima continues to intone quietly and dramatically.]
This is Latin for "where are you going?" It is a reference to the religious tradition of Jesus Christ - one of his disciples asked him "Where are you going, Lord?" I believe that as you read it, you will find yourself psychically drawn to that question and wonder who is asking it. Zero said at the trial "justice must be served", but also that not everything is under his control. Either would be a good reason to take note of important clues like this.
[Makima is finally wearing her black overcoat uniform again after several successive washings.]
Someone went out Thursday night and, most notably, identified the deceased before anyone else. This person has split loyalties. I do not use the term "double agent" lightly. I believe we should find out who they are and should continue to investigate in groups when possible to dilute the influence of this person. Although basic actions are unavoidable like talking to Zero at whatever opportunity happens to arise, we should make sure to look out for any actions that are truly without reasonable explanation.
For example, Kurashiki Aoi-kun drinking poison on the first day and sowing discord among us by claiming it was the act of another, then finally admitting the truth under the influence of the penalty after his abstention from the doll game.
[Mic drop.]

[How could Hermes forget such an important mechanic to Fortuna? He, the tutorial, forgot about such a large part of the game! Not only lore-wise, but mechanic-wise as well! He's not supposed to forget something like this. He's usually the tutorial.

[...Those who enter the rec room earlier in the day, you can find his shipping wall updated. It's Anya-free, Kaito and Akane are paired, Brain and a cartoon heart are paired, Alastor and a doodly square colored in red(with a black D) are paired...]
[But it's forgivable if you're distracted from the shipping chart by something else.]
[There's another piece of paper taped to a wall, adorned with a strange symbol, and Hermes appears to be ...talking to it?]
Yeah! Yeah, even though Minerva's a war god, she's in charge of the intelligence stat! Aaaand you're also correct in thinking that her Greek counterpart is Athena!

[It was already beginning to become chilly, but Akane had still had made a Commitment, and she was consequently Determined. Makima had been right, after all. It was stupid to just... try to ignore these powers, even if she remained less than certain about hers in particular. It seemed like a good way to get someone hurt, with her as the prime candidate. But...
Consequently she'd done her best to block off a little area of the hallway and had begun to call ice.
It was easiest, she found, to call only a narrow strip of it, to allow frost to spread out from her feet in a narrow strip, the cold blooming in a thin sheet as her feet approached the ground. Eventually she became a little more confident, and began to twist and move, to glide backwards, to turn in place in a graceful stop.
When she finally stopped moving her cheeks were flushed with a combination of exertion, cold, and excitement. After she began to concentrate on experimenting what else she could do with her ice, gradually building thicker layers, building low graceful curves, and then, eventually, fiercely concentrating and beginning to will it away.
She'll be quite visible for this whole process, and open to being approached. Just be sure not to slip!]
Spa
[After her frosty adventures, Akane moves up to the Turkish baths--mostly because they seem to be the warmest place on the ship, right now. It feels like it's getting colder, too. But, for now, this is somewhere to try to warm up.]
